The rate of starvation in countries like Haiti and Guatemala grows at an alarming rate. Globally, a child dies from hunger every five seconds.

This year's disastrous hurricanes destroyed precious food resources in the Caribbean, leaving thousands desperate and hungry. Father Duken Augustin, a priest who works with us in Haiti, told us, "I don't know what the people will do... We have lost people, houses and animals. We have been devastated." Recently, at our Haiti feeding center, tears rolled down 10-year-old Vitamin Sauver's face. "The day before yesterday there was no food left. I didn't eat all day," she said. "Please don't let me die of hunger." Our Haiti manager told us she doesn't have enough food to feed everyone. Skyrocketing costs and recent hurricanes have further debilitated this suffering nation. Food For The Poor is one of the only charities still serving meals to the poor in the area. Your gift for food means little girls like Vitamin won't be afraid of dying from hunger.
