Luke Smallbone was nearly five when his parents -- David and Helen Smallbone -- traveled from Australia to the United States with big dreams but were forced to chase odd jobs when David's job fell through. The entire family pitched in to help by cleaning houses and mowing lawns, among other things. His parents, he said, refused to "give up on faith" or "give up on Jesus." Their story is retold in the upcoming movie Unsung Hero, which is scheduled to release in theaters on April 26. It stars Daisy Betts, Candace Cameron Bure, and Lucas Black. Actress Catherine Lidstone was hiking near her home in Los Angeles when she learned of an opportunity that, eventually, would make her face seen by millions. It was on that hike that she bumped into an actor friend who had just landed a role in a new Bible-based television series, The Chosen. At the time, she was filming a series on Fox, Proven Innocent, but the possibility of appearing in a faith-based project about Jesus piqued her interest. After all, it aligned with her Christian faith. It also would provide another job.  “He was like, ‘I have no idea where this is gonna go if it's gonna succeed or fail. The non-profit Come and See Foundation has a goal of translating The Chosen into 600 languages, and CEO Stan Jantz recently spoke to Crosswalk Talk to update fans on its progress. Filmmaker Alejandro Monteverde is the director behind Cabrini, Sound of Freedom, Bella and Little Boy. Cabrini tells the story of an Italian woman who moved to New York City in the late 1800s and overcame racism and sexism to serve the poor and launch a hospital. The organization she founded launched hundreds of hospitals, orphanages and schools around the world. Christian singer-songwriter Phil Wickham talks about his album, "I Believe" with Michael Foust in this exclusive interview.  Award-winning Christian music artist Phil Wickham shared that he witnessed "thousands and thousands" of people surrender their lives to Jesus Christ this past summer. According to CBN News, Wickham went on the nationwide Summer Worship Nights Tour with Grammy Award-winning artist Brandon Lake. In addition to their worship sets, both artists also made a call to salvation. "Every night, God really laid it on our heart, me and Brandon Lake, it just felt so obvious we were supposed to give people a chance to know Jesus," he told The Christian Post in a recent interview. "We just felt like that's what God was calling us to do, and every night we do a legit Gospel presentation," he added. "Then the lights go up (and) it has been crazy; thousands and thousands of people have lifted their hands, and the church (is) coming along them and praying for them." Additionally, Wickham and Lake encouraged the new converts to get themselves situated in a local church. Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg is crediting his faith and his prayer life for his success, saying in a new interview they’re at the “forefront” of everything he does. Wahlberg has been open about his faith in recent years. He and actor Jonathan Roumie of The Chosen were featured in a Super Bowl ad this year for the Catholic prayer app Hallow, and two years ago, Wahlberg produced and starred in a passion project, Father Stu, that told the story of a Catholic priest who persevered in his faith as he developed a muscular disease. Rabbi Jason Sobel, the author of Mysteries of the Messiah and multiple other books, told Christian Headlines he grew up in a Jewish home in the New York area but didn’t examine the Messianic prophecies until he was an adult. Sobel is well-known in the Messianic Jewish movement and serves as a consultant for the hit television series 'The Chosen.' He is the host of the TBN series 'The Chosen Unveiled.' His conversion, he said, began with a general dissatisfaction with life.
