God the Father Is Good
February 15, 2022 - 12 min
For those who believe that if there is a God, he cannot possibly be good - Kia walks through three assumptions of this line of thinking:Assumptions:1. Good things should only happen to good people, and bad things should only happen to bad people.2. We have a common understanding with God of who is good and bad.3. Things that are bad can never result in a good outcome.By exploring these assumptions, we can come to a right view of God’s goodness.Kia Stephens is a wife and homeschooling mom of two who is passionate about encouraging the hearts of women. God the Father Affirms Us
February 1, 2022 - 14 min
The words of our biological fathers can uplift us, or wound us deeply. For those of us with father wounds, we usually wrestle with deeply hurtful words or an absence of affirmation. This is why it is essential that we look to our Father for affirmation. For every woman who has felt unseen or invisible or unaffirmed by their biological father, God says over and over in his Word: I affirm you.Scripture Referenced: Psalm 139Kia Stephens is a wife and homeschooling mom of two who is passionate about encouraging the hearts of women. God the Father Is Accessible
November 16, 2021 - 11 min
Episode 13: God the Father Is Accessible There is something so comforting about the fact that we do not have to wait to commune with God. He is always accessible to us, always ready to listen to us. All we have to do is quiet ourselves and talk to him exactly as we are. He is not too busy, not too important and not too preoccupied to stop and commune with us.Even our best friends and closest family members can’t be there for us the way God can. This is especially true when our fathers were inaccessible or completely absent. Maybe the lesson you took from that was that you had yourself to depend on. But God is there for you and you can always, always depend on him. We’ll take a closer look at this principle in the story of Joshua 10.About Kia:Kia Stephens is a wife and homeschooling mom of two who is passionate about encouraging the hearts of women. God the Father Loves Us Intentionally
November 1, 2021 - 12 min
When I was a child, I was bullied in school. It was one of the most defining experiencing of my life. It laid the foundation for a variety of lies I believed for a long time, which drove poor decision-making as a result. Our existence isn’t a mistake. God wants us to be here. Everything about us was created with intention. If you feel unloved, unwanted or unimportant by man - God has always loved, wanted and valued us. “I formed you,” he tells Jeremiah, and us.About Kia:Kia Stephens is a wife and homeschooling mom of two who is passionate about encouraging the hearts of women. A Closer Look at Knowing God as Father
October 18, 2021 - 14 min
Years ago, I stumbled across a quote I’ve never been able to forget: “Sociologists say it is common for people to perceive that God is like their fathers or fatherly figures in their lives.” If your father was silent, absent, angry, prideful, abusive, etc., you could believe God was that way, too. What does it mean to say God is a father to the fatherless when we cannot see, hear or touch him? In this episode, Kia unpacks her own father wound story and how she started her journey to view God as Father.Resources Mentioned in this Episode:Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus by John GrayKia Stephens is a wife and homeschooling mom of two who is passionate about encouraging the hearts of women.
