Hiking the Appalachian Trail with Brian Livingston

at 2130 miles the Appalachian trail challenges even the best hikers and backpackers. With a through hike success rate of around 25%, its challenges are enormous. Brian Livingston completed the through hike in 2013 and he joins me today to discuss the trail, what drew him to do it and the challenges he faced.
We also spend some time discussing his new novel, "The Habits of Squirrels" A novel that follows the protagonist Gabe as he walks on a fictitious trail in the eastern US. It is a must read.

Jon Goodwin is a devoted husband of more than 25 years to his wife, Jennifer, and a proud father of three grown children. He serves as pastor of Hartland Bible Church, where he has the privilege of shepherding his church family and sharing the hope of the Gospel.
