#3 of 3-part series: As we have said so many times on the iRetire4Him Podcast, many retirees know what they are retiring from but few…very few …know what they are retiring to.  How can you make sure you are prepared for what’s ahead?

Today we are going to focus on 8 questions we must answer in order to build in FLEXIBILITY into our plans as we head into retirement:

  1. How will you handle your time?
  2. How will you prioritize your activities?
  3. How about leisure?
  4. What is your plan and how will you organize your spiritual growth activities?
  5. What is your plan and how will you organize your personal growth activities?
  6.  How will you stay in shape?
  7. Where does family fit into your schedule?
  8. Where will you find meaning and purpose?

These are certainly important questions to answer! Listen in as we end this series talking with Bruce Bruinsma, Retirement Reformation founder, about these more flexible – but still significant – areas of retirement.

Although Jim is not yet at retirement age, he and his wife Martha lived twenty years residing in 55+ communities in Florida. Their experience has highlighted the harsh reality of retirement in the United States, showing the discontent that can come when people lack purpose in their later years. Surrounded by parents in their nineties and friends in their sixties, seventies, and eighties, Jim and Martha find motivation in observing those who live out their faith in retirement, while also witnessing the frustration of those who do not.

Jim has been hosting the iRetire4Him Podcast for nearly five years, has spoken at conferences, and has co-authored the book iRetire4Him: Unlock God’s Purpose for Your Retirement, with his father-in-law. Although he currently Works4Him, he looks forward to Retiring4Him one day!
