Jeremiah's Lonely Call as Prophet (Walk Thru the Bible Week 30)
As Zephaniah is warning that the Day of the Lord is coming and Jeremiah begins his hard and lonely calling to warn Judah about their sinful ways, King Josiah begins to purge the nation of idolatry. While his reforms are not enough to stop eventual exile, Zephaniah tells of a day when God will bring them back home and will rejoice over His people with singing.
This episode complements the daily readings from our Walk Thru the Bible reading plan for August 23-29, covering Jeremiah 1-12; Zephaniah 1-3; 2 Kings 21-23.

Susan’s involvement with the ICEJ began as a graduate student at Jerusalem University College in 1980, the same year that the Christian Embassy was first established. Upon completing her master’s degree in Judeo-Christian Studies, she returned from Israel with a heart to further the Embassy’s mission among fellow Americans. After a season assisting the ministry’s international leadership to host a series of high-profile pro-Israel conferences across the United States, she was asked to head up the ICEJ’s USA Branch.
In addition to a master’s degree in Judeo-Christian Studies, she holds a bachelor’s degree in theology from Oral Roberts University and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws by Piedmont International University in 2018.
Dr. Michael leads the American Christian Leaders for Israel (ACLI), has authored books, such as Encounter the 3D Bible: How to Read the Bible So It Comes to Life, and has developed educational resources, including the IsraelAnswers website, ICEJ U online courses, and curricula for Christian colleges.
