We all want a happy, healthy marriage. But sometimes it's easier to see what our spouse needs to change than to recognize what we might need to work on ourselves. And when we're feeling hurt or frustrated, believing the best of our spouse isn't always our first instinct!

In Part 2 of this conversation, Shaunti and Jeff continue exploring the six practical steps they've discovered through their research on highly happy marriages. They discuss why it's so important to recognize our spouse's good intentions (even when their actions don't quite hit the mark!), how our own insecurities can affect the way we treat each other, and why taking responsibility for our own actions can make such a difference.

They also share some personal stories from their own marriage, fascinating insights about forgiveness, and what they've learned through their research on the power of kindness—including why we may not be nearly as kind as we think we are.

The encouraging news? A better marriage doesn't require a perfect spouse—or a perfect you. Sometimes it starts with a willingness to look at things differently, extend a little more grace, and choose kindness even when it's difficult.
