Today we wrap up Peter's warning about false teachers in 2 Peter 2 and see why only Jesus can truly set us free:

False teachers are "wells without water, clouds driven by a storm." They promise life-giving water, but Jesus alone is the living water (John 4).
They promise liberty while they themselves are bondservants of corruption. A slave cannot free other slaves: "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36).
Freedom in Christ is not freedom to sin (1 Corinthians 6:12).
Does verse 20 mean we can lose our salvation? Hebrews 6 and 1 John 2:19 point to "toe-dippers" who never let faith in Jesus sink deep.
Test every teacher against Scripture like the Bereans did, because there is only one truth.
The dog returns to its vomit and the washed sow to the mire, but Psalm 40 shows us lifted out of the pit and set on the Rock.
