This week hosts Mike Nawrocki and Sarah Humphrey talk with author Laura Smith about her new book, Holy Care for the Whole Self.

Laura L. Smith releases 13 th book! Holy Care for the Whole Self: Biblical Wisdom for Mental and Spiritual Well-Being. This book touches on the hot topic of the intersection of faith and mental health and releases February 6, 2024.

Holy Care for the Whole Self is a follow up to Smith’s successful titles with Our Daily Bread Publishing, How Sweet the Sound (over 130,000 copies sold) and Restore My Soul (over 30,000 copies sold).

About the book:

In Holy Care for the Whole Self, Laura L. Smith debunks the stigmas of mental health and shows how caring for our well-being is Biblical and can help us better live the lives Christ calls us to.

Covering topics such as community, getting outside, prayer, how to proactively and reactively care for your mental health, what to do in a setback, etc. each chapter includes personal narratives (from Smith and the over dozen friends and mental health professionals she interviewed), Biblical examples, and scientific tie-ins to Scripture. There are reflection questions at the end of each chapter that makes the book perfect for small group or individual studies.
