In this episode we are discussing the challenges of living an active lifestyle while dealing with the effects from living with fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. It can be challenging to stay active while dealing with these kinds of problems especially if all we feel is pain.

This can be de-motivating.

But it doesn’t have to be this way and there are things we can do to help manage the pain so that we stay motivated to exercise and stretch. In this episode Meredith offers some great tips that you can try.

1). How fibromyalgia can be easily mis – diagnosed because of the many symptoms that you can have like tenderness, fatigue etc. Getting the right diagnosis is so important.

2). How physical workouts can very much still be done if you have fibromyalgia by modifying and monitoring your pace and why that can help you overall.

3). Some examples of great exercises you can try like water workouts, tai chi, low impact type workouts that are easy to follow and not as straining on joints and muscles.

4). Why eating healthy regularly, exercising and getting good rest will help you overall with fibromyalgia effects and making sure you stay active by doing regulated exercises can add to the quality of your life.
