2 Chronicles 28:16-27 - Why Idolatry Always Breeds Selfishness
Ahaz is in a pickle:
- Judah is being attacked on literally every side
- God brings an encouraging prophecy to Ahaz and tells him to ask for a sign, but Ahaz refuses
- Ahaz begs the king of Assyria for help - in a similar fashion as one would pray to God
- Ahaz completely shutters the temple to God and replaces it with idols
- Why idolatry breeds selfishness, which, in turn breeds violence
