Today's Bible Verse: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture." — Luke 8:5–6 (NIV)

The Parable of the Sower is one of Jesus' most familiar teachings, yet its message is just as challenging today as it was for His first listeners. At first glance, the story seems to be about a farmer and his seed. But Jesus uses this simple illustration to reveal a much deeper truth about the condition of our hearts and how we respond to God's Word.

Not every seed takes root because not every heart is prepared to receive it. Some people hear God's truth but quickly dismiss it. Others receive it with excitement, only to fall away when life becomes difficult. Jesus invites us to look beyond the surface and ask an important question: What kind of soil is my heart?
