Why Greatness Begins at the Bottom Mark (9:35)
Today’s Bible Verse:
“Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, ‘Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.’” — Mark 9:35
Mark 9:35 flips the entire idea of greatness on its head. While the world pushes us to climb higher, Jesus invites us to step lower—not in value, but in posture. True influence, He says, is found in serving, not striving. When we choose humility over self-promotion and compassion over competition, we reflect the heart of Christ. In God’s kingdom, greatness grows from the ground up, where love chooses to kneel before it ever asks to lead.
