God Is in the Small Things

God often begins His work in our lives in the smallest, quietest ways—nudges and ideas we might overlook if we’re expecting something grand. In this evening prayer and devotional, we reflect on how these early moments can feel insignificant, but they often serve as the seeds of future callings.

Small beginnings can open doors we never imagined. Just like a simple newsletter can lead to a career in writing, a hobby in video editing can find its way to national television, or playful photography can grow into a platform reaching thousands—God delights in taking what seems small and using it for His greater purposes.

Zechariah 4:10 reminds us not to dismiss the “day of small things.” Luke 16:10 affirms that faithfulness in little prepares us for greater responsibility. Every small start is an opportunity to trust His timing and direction, knowing He can turn humble beginnings into stories of His goodness and glory.

Dear Father,
Thank You for the beauty and potential You’ve placed in the small beginnings of my life. Help me to see these moments not as insignificant, but as the start of something You are shaping for Your glory. Give me the courage to step forward in what You’ve placed on my heart, trusting Your timing and following Your lead. May all I do bring praise to Your name.
