Have you ever tried to build something—only to have it collapse due to a flawed foundation? Whether it’s a wobbly toolbox or a shaky desk chair, without a proper base, no structure can last. The same is true of our spiritual lives.

In tonight’s devotion, Amber Ginter reflects on her own lesson in building, reminding us that Jesus is meant to be the cornerstone—the solid foundation—of our lives. When we attempt to construct our identities, relationships, or future plans without Him, we end up with structures that cannot weather life’s inevitable storms.

But when Jesus is at the center, our lives gain stability, strength, and eternal significance. The builders of Jesus’ time rejected Him, but He remains the only true foundation that can support our hearts, hopes, and eternal destiny. The question isn’t just whether we know about Him—but whether we’ve made Him the centerpiece of our lives.

Dear Jesus,
You are the firm foundation, the Rock that cannot be shaken. We confess how easily we place our trust in unstable things—our jobs, relationships, even ourselves. But tonight, we choose to build our lives on You. Help us to surrender control and realign our hearts to Your truth. When chaos strikes, may we stand strong, rooted in the Cornerstone that endures.
