The Need for Discipleship Bible Study Ministries for Political Leaders in YOUR Community
August 3, 2024 - 25 min
Dr. Dan DeShong, CapMin's Local Government global director, taught our very first Bible study to local leaders. He talks with Ralph and Frank about the impact that knowing more about the Bible has had on his city and county office holders. Political leaders desperately need to be grounded in God’s Word and yet they are one of the most neglected mission fields when it comes to evangelism and discipleship. For more than 25 years Capitol Ministries has planted discipleship Bible study ministries for state and federal leaders. We are now dedicated to building ministries for America’s city and county leaders through our Local Government Ministries (LGM) initiative.CapMin is seeking men who are proven, intentional, deliberate, biblically reliant disciple makers to lead these ministries. Are you a pastor, former pastor, Sunday School teacher, layman, or retired businessman who senses a call from God to evangelize, disciple, and teach His Word to public servants? If so, we invite you to learn about us.In addition to this program, we welcome you to learn more at CapMin.org/Local!Support a Local Ministry!: https://capmin.org/donate/ Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.
Do You Grieve or Quench the Holy Spirit?
July 27, 2024 - 25 min
"If you have this habit of letting the Word of Christ richly dwell within you on a daily basis, you will find the empowerment of the Holy Spirit is going to eclipse your proclivities to sin just because you’re so filled with that force that is already positionally implanted in you when you bowed the knee and came to Christ."Support a Local Ministry!: https://capmin.org/donate/ Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.

Meet Your Hosts
Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries, leads separate Bible studies every week on the Hill in Washington, D.C. to U.S Senators and Representatives. He also leads a Bible study remotely via the internet for former White House Cabinet Members and Senior Staff.

Capitol Ministries was founded by Drollinger and his wife Danielle in 1996 with the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena throughout the world. To date, the ministry has established discipleship Bible-study ministries to legislators in 43 states, to city and county local leaders in communities in nine states and in dozens of foreign countries.

As an expository historical evangelical pastor, Drollinger teaches the Bible one book at a time, verse by verse. Additionally, every week Bible studies Drollinger has written on topical issues are delivered to the 535 legislators. Drollinger believes that nothing can substitute this basic discipline in ministry. Transformation and discipleship stem from “the renewing of the mind” (Romans 12:1-2).

Drollinger played basketball at UCLA under coach John Wooden and was the first player in NCAA history to go to four Final Four tournaments. Drollinger was taken in the NBA Draft three times but chose to forgo the NBA to instead play with Athletes in Action, an evangelistic basketball team that toured the world and preached the gospel at halftimes. Drollinger signed with the Dallas Mavericks in June 1980 as a free agent, becoming the first Dallas Maverick in the history of the then-new NBA franchise.

A world-class mountaineer, Drollinger is the first person to have climbed every peak on the main ridge of the Sierra Nevada between Olancha and Sonora Pass, CA, the 250-mile section known as the High Sierra. Ralph and Danielle Drollinger have three married children and seven grandchildren.
