5 Biblical Characteristics That Define a Good Person
May 14, 2024 - 25 min
Oftentimes on the Hill we refer to someone as a “good person.” That compliment is nice to say concerning a colleague, keeping in the back of our minds of course, that everyone is fallen and possesses a sinful nature. If we use that term to describe another person as does Solomon in the book of Proverbs, what specifically does the wisest man say should characterize a “good person”? Let us discover this week all that Solomon has to say about this admirable adjective and make application to our own life.As we study, be thinking of at least one aspect of your life God wants to remove and another (from His book) that He wants you to add to your life. Support a Local Ministry!: https://capmin.org/donate/ Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.

Biblical Insights Into Jesus’ Debating Skills
March 19, 2024 - 24 min
A public servant can learn much about debating skills from this week’s Bible passage.  Observe how the desperation of Jesus’ enemies impelled them to publicly discount the Lord’s credibility. Sound familiar? The failure of Jesus’ foes to win debates in previous encounters has so frustrated and infuriated them that they become absurd in their attacks. Imagine that! Let us critically examine passages relative to Jesus’ debating skills and see what we can learn about improving ours.Support a Local Ministry!: https://capmin.org/donate/ Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.

Meet Your Hosts
Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries, leads separate Bible studies every week on the Hill in Washington, D.C. to U.S Senators and Representatives. He also leads a Bible study remotely via the internet for former White House Cabinet Members and Senior Staff.

Capitol Ministries was founded by Drollinger and his wife Danielle in 1996 with the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena throughout the world. To date, the ministry has established discipleship Bible-study ministries to legislators in 43 states, to city and county local leaders in communities in nine states and in dozens of foreign countries.

As an expository historical evangelical pastor, Drollinger teaches the Bible one book at a time, verse by verse. Additionally, every week Bible studies Drollinger has written on topical issues are delivered to the 535 legislators. Drollinger believes that nothing can substitute this basic discipline in ministry. Transformation and discipleship stem from “the renewing of the mind” (Romans 12:1-2).

Drollinger played basketball at UCLA under coach John Wooden and was the first player in NCAA history to go to four Final Four tournaments. Drollinger was taken in the NBA Draft three times but chose to forgo the NBA to instead play with Athletes in Action, an evangelistic basketball team that toured the world and preached the gospel at halftimes. Drollinger signed with the Dallas Mavericks in June 1980 as a free agent, becoming the first Dallas Maverick in the history of the then-new NBA franchise.

A world-class mountaineer, Drollinger is the first person to have climbed every peak on the main ridge of the Sierra Nevada between Olancha and Sonora Pass, CA, the 250-mile section known as the High Sierra. Ralph and Danielle Drollinger have three married children and seven grandchildren.
