5 Biblical Principles for Tax Policy
November 26, 2023 - 38 min
Let us discover what Scripture says to the government regarding taxing the free market. More specifically, what are the five guiding scriptural principles that public servants must consider relative to tax policy formation? To do so is to either prosper or else damage a nation.Support a Local Ministry!: https://capmin.org/donate/ Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.
Leading Thanksgiving Devotions with Your Family
November 20, 2023 - 13 min
If the trajectory of our country is going to change, it must begin with our hearts. America’s systemic problem is spiritual in nature; therefore, we must  first steward our own hearts and the hearts of our families before speaking about changing the direction of our country; anything less is hypocritical. May God use the following thoughts to aid in crafting a special, constructive day centered in our love for Jesus. Let us give thanks for all He has done for us!Support a Local Ministry!: https://capmin.org/donate/ Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.
The Remedy for Racism
November 14, 2023 - 31 min
Every culture and government throughout history has faced the issue of racism and unjust resentment toward others who are different. Racism is characteristic and evident of the sinful nature of man. Fallen mankind has always built barriers and ostracized others. This exclusion stems from pride: a fallen man’s predilection to believe he or she is superior to another in some way. In this regard, racism parades around with his ugly brother who goes by the name arrogance. At its core, racism is a heart issue—a dilemma with no solution apart from Christ’s regenerative work in a person’s heart. In fact, the Bible’s test for the veracity of genuine faith is the absence of racism. John 13:35 says, “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Jesus’ command here stems beyond loving our own kind. This week let us examine some biblical insights regarding racism.-Learn more at capmin.orgSupport a Local Ministry!: https://capmin.org/donate/ Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.

God’s Word on Spanking [Proverbs]
October 31, 2023 - 23 min
This week I would like to investigate what God says about spanking a child. We will study what the book of Proverbs, as well as the whole of Scripture, teaches about this increasingly controversial subject. It is important for public servants to know the mind of God on this matter, lest they legislate from naïveté, void of God’s wisdom in this regard.Given the depraved nature of man, for the institution of the State to prohibit the institution of the family from carrying out its God ordained responsibility of disciplining a citizen in his or her youth, is to sow the seeds of cultural discord for tomorrow. The Biblical Case for Defending Israel | Part 2
October 24, 2023 - 32 min
Nearly every public servant who has his or her ear to the ground knows that the Bible enjoins individuals and nations to bless Israel. In Genesis 12:3 God states in His promise to Abraham (Israel’s patriarch), “I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse.…” Not all, however, who follow Christ are pro-Israel. Within Evangelicalism there is a camp who hold to what I explained and defined in Part 1 as “Replacement Theology.” The other more sophisticated theological name is “Supersessionism.” These adherents believe the Church supersedes Israel; they embrace what then amounts to a contextually descriptive title, “Replacement Theology.” In this study, I will use these terms interchangeably. By way of review, the Replacement Theology crowd believes God is done with Israel, having replaced her with His Church. The Church then is the new Israel; therefore, the conditional promise (cf. Genesis 12:3) stated above in the Abrahamic Covenant (cf. Genesis 15:18) now applies to the Church. What does the Bible say about all this? What do you believe? How an American lawmaker reasons this issue from Scripture has huge implications in American foreign policy and as many conclude, whether God will continue to bless America. -- READ PART 1Support a Local Ministry!: https://capmin.org/donate/ Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.
The Biblical Case for Defending Israel | Part 1
October 15, 2023 - 25 min
Given what’s happening in Israel, I think it is timely to provide this two-part series on Israel—from a Bible teacher’s perspective. Can you immediately and cogently reason from Scripture why America should be committed to Israel? By way of introduction, I believe that in a reaping and sowing sense America has wonderfully prospered because our cultural foundation stems from all that Israel has historically provided us relative to pertinent scriptural truth. There is no doubt the biblical truths borrowed from historic Israel have provided the cultural moorings for historic America. One might summarily call this our philosophical union with Israel. If for no other reason, we owe Israel our loyalty relative to our debt of gratitude. But there are many more biblically-based reasons that I will proffer in this Bible study. Five Definitive Characteristics of Righteous Leadership
October 10, 2023 - 27 min
Proverbs 14:34 contains a sound political maxim, the simplicity of which is often overlooked: personal righteousness in the population—both in citizens and leaders—is the single most important commodity that any country can possess! This virtue, states Solomon, is preeminent to everything else, because Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. Slaying the Sin of Slander
October 3, 2023 - 27 min
American elections are way too nasty. Political ads and campaign speeches are filled with attacks, condemnations, criticisms, verbal assaults, unproven accusations, and even false charges that candidates from all major political parties— including incumbents—lob at each other. Our Constitution guarantees us free speech, but that right should never be taken as a license to slander. Like falsely yelling “Fire!” in a crowded theater, slander is not protected free speech. We now live in a highly loquacious, instantaneous, intractable mediated culture, and a cowboy named Steroidal Slander is on the loose. When the character of another is involved, he’s quick on the draw. What’s the remedy? For one, someone needs to model a higher standard! And of all people, those who name the name of Christ who hold public office, ought to be the ones who model that higher standard! Christ must make a difference in this area of the life of the believer. Ephesians 4:31 states, Let all … slander be put away from you. This passage is our study for this week; I’m hoping as we better understand what putting away slander means, we can holster our guns. Understanding Why the Unregenerate Don’t Vote Right
September 26, 2023 - 28 min
When we possess a personal relationship with God via the regenerating work of Jesus Christ on our behalf, we become indwelled by the Holy Spirit, who simultaneously leads us into all truth. Such is not the case with the unregenerate—as Ephesians 4:17–20, this week’s passage serves to illustrate! After you study what follows, you will not be so surprised as to why non-believers so often vote the way they do. So, let’s labor in evangelism to get them saved! -- For more info: capmin.orgFollow Capitol Ministries of Facebook: facebook.com/CapitolMinistriesFollow on Instagram: instagram.com/capitolministriesFollow on Twitter: twitter.com/capminSubscribe to the Capitol Ministries YouTube Channel: youtube.com/channel/UCCspy8MZ0ftbey1BoJymnMASupport a Local Ministry!: https://capmin.org/donate/ Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.

Meet Your Hosts
Ralph Drollinger, President and Founder of Capitol Ministries, leads separate Bible studies every week on the Hill in Washington, D.C. to U.S Senators and Representatives. He also leads a Bible study remotely via the internet for former White House Cabinet Members and Senior Staff.

Capitol Ministries was founded by Drollinger and his wife Danielle in 1996 with the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena throughout the world. To date, the ministry has established discipleship Bible-study ministries to legislators in 43 states, to city and county local leaders in communities in nine states and in dozens of foreign countries.

As an expository historical evangelical pastor, Drollinger teaches the Bible one book at a time, verse by verse. Additionally, every week Bible studies Drollinger has written on topical issues are delivered to the 535 legislators. Drollinger believes that nothing can substitute this basic discipline in ministry. Transformation and discipleship stem from “the renewing of the mind” (Romans 12:1-2).

Drollinger played basketball at UCLA under coach John Wooden and was the first player in NCAA history to go to four Final Four tournaments. Drollinger was taken in the NBA Draft three times but chose to forgo the NBA to instead play with Athletes in Action, an evangelistic basketball team that toured the world and preached the gospel at halftimes. Drollinger signed with the Dallas Mavericks in June 1980 as a free agent, becoming the first Dallas Maverick in the history of the then-new NBA franchise.

A world-class mountaineer, Drollinger is the first person to have climbed every peak on the main ridge of the Sierra Nevada between Olancha and Sonora Pass, CA, the 250-mile section known as the High Sierra. Ralph and Danielle Drollinger have three married children and seven grandchildren.
