As October arrives, the world around us begins to change. The temperature drops, the leaves fall, and a new season begins. Life can change in much the same way. Maybe you're starting a new job, moving to a new city, or stepping away from something familiar. When God leads us into a new season, we may not always understand where He's taking us. But we don't have to know everything about what's next to trust the One who does. Proverbs 3:6 reminds us to acknowledge God in all our ways and trust Him to guide our path. The season may be changing, but God hasn't. Wherever He leads you next, He'll be there. π Don’t forget: You can also download our free devotional, “Mind, Body & Soul,” designed to help strengthen your walk with God through Scripture, prayer, and practical habits. Every family has someone who is a little different. Maybe they see the world differently, have a unique personality, or simply don't fit the mold. But they're still family. The same is true of the family of God. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we explore what it means to belong to the Church. The body of Christ is made up of people from different backgrounds, personalities, experiences, and stages of life. Some have everything figured out. Others are still trying to find their way. And that's okay. Galatians 3:28 reminds us that we are one in Christ Jesus. Our unity isn't based on being the same. It's found in belonging to Jesus. God's family has room for everyone. And if we have been welcomed and loved by Him, we're called to extend that same welcome to others. π Don’t forget: You can also download our free devotional, “Mind, Body & Soul,” designed to help strengthen your walk with God through Scripture, prayer, and practical habits. Have you ever tried to avoid something you knew you were supposed to do? Jonah did exactly that. When God called Jonah to go to Nineveh, Jonah went in the opposite direction. He got on a boat and tried to run from the God who created the ocean. And while Jonah's story is full of humor, it also reveals something important about God's character. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we look at the story of Jonah and the incredible patience of God. Even when Jonah was stubborn, disobedient, and determined to go his own way, God didn't give up on him. Sometimes we try to avoid God because we're afraid, frustrated, stubborn, or simply don't want to do what He's asking. But Jonah reminds us that our mistakes don't make us unreachable to God. God knows our stubborn moments. He knows when we run. And He still loves us. π Don’t forget: You can also download our free devotional, “Mind, Body & Soul,” designed to help strengthen your walk with God through Scripture, prayer, and practical habits. What will Heaven be like? It’s one of the biggest questions we carry as human beings. The Bible gives us incredible promises about eternity. Through Jesus, death is not the end. God promises a future where there is no more pain or suffering and where we will be with Him forever. But Scripture doesn't tell us every detail about Heaven. Maybe that's intentional. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we're reminded that while eternity gives us hope for what comes next, God has also given us a life to live right now. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” We don't have to fear the future because God holds eternity. But we also don't want to miss the beauty, purpose, relationships, and opportunities God has placed in front of us today. Live fully. Love deeply. Trust God with what comes next. π Don’t forget: You can also download our free devotional, “Mind, Body & Soul,” designed to help strengthen your walk with God through Scripture, prayer, and practical habits. Pornography is something many people quietly struggle with, but how we think about it matters. What if we looked beyond temptation and considered the people involved? In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we're challenged to remember that every person we see on a screen is a human being created in the image of God. They have a name, a story, and inherent dignity. The realities of exploitation, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation remind us why it's important to see people as God sees them rather than reducing them to images or products. If you're struggling with pornography, the answer isn't shame. Jesus offers freedom, grace, and restoration. He came to restore what is broken, including the way we see ourselves and the way we see other people. π Don’t forget: You can also download our free devotional, “Mind, Body & Soul,” designed to help strengthen your walk with God through Scripture, prayer, and practical habits. Are you harder on yourself than you would be on anyone else? Whether you're trying to break a bad habit, reach a goal, lose weight, learn something new, it can be easy to focus on how far you still have to go instead of recognizing how far you've come. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we're reminded that following Jesus doesn't mean expecting perfection from ourselves. We can be quick to extend grace and encouragement to other people while holding ourselves to an impossible standard. When Jesus tells us to “love your neighbor as yourself,” He reminds us that we are also people created and loved by God. Our mistakes don't define us, and our value isn't determined by our productivity, appearance, accomplishments, or failures. God gives us room to grow. We can do the same for ourselves. π Don’t forget: You can also download our free devotional, “Mind, Body & Soul,” designed to help strengthen your walk with God through Scripture, prayer, and practical habits. Have you ever felt left out because of your faith? Maybe you walked away from a situation because you knew it wasn't right. Maybe you skipped an event, conversation, or relationship because you wanted to honor God. And even when you know you made the right choice, being excluded can still hurt. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we explore the tension between following Christ and wanting to fit in. For young Christians especially, the pressure to belong, the fear of missing out, and the desire for approval can be difficult to navigate. Jesus never promised that following Him would always be popular. In John 15:19, He reminds His followers that they are not defined by the world's acceptance. They have been chosen by Him. When following Jesus makes you feel left out, remember that you are never left out of God's family. The approval of Christ is greater than the approval of any crowd. π Don’t forget: You can also download our free devotional, “Mind, Body & Soul,” designed to help strengthen your walk with God through Scripture, prayer, and practical habits. We all have bad days. Maybe you wake up in a terrible mood, someone says the wrong thing, traffic pushes your buttons, and suddenly your frustration seems to control everything. But what do we do with those emotions when anger starts taking over? In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we look at 2 Corinthians 10:5 and the call to “take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.” Following Jesus doesn’t mean we never feel anger or frustration. It means we don't have to let those emotions control our thoughts, words, and actions. If you're having one of those days, pause. Take that thought captive. Invite Jesus into the moment and let Him lead your heart. π Don’t forget: You can also download our free devotional, “Mind, Body & Soul,” designed to help strengthen your walk with God through Scripture, prayer, and practical habits. Have you ever walked into a place and wondered, “Do I really belong here?” In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we reflect on the story of Hannah, a young woman who has used a wheelchair since childhood. Her story is not defined by what she can't do, but by God’s faithfulness and the community that has supported her along the way. Her testimony also challenges us to look at our own churches, worship services, and communities. Are we creating spaces where people with disabilities and people from all walks of life know they are truly welcome? Jesus consistently noticed and welcomed people others overlooked. As His followers, we are called to do the same. Takeaways from this episode: Everyone wants to know that they belong. A person’s disability does not define their identity or their value. God is faithful through every circumstance. Churches should be places where everyone can participate and feel genuinely welcomed. Accessibility is about more than physical spaces. It is also about relationships and belonging. We can follow Jesus’ example by noticing, welcoming, and including people others may overlook. π Don’t forget: You can also download our free devotional, “Mind, Body & Soul,” designed to help strengthen your walk with God through Scripture, prayer, and practical habits. It’s easy to make assumptions about people based on what we see on the outside. But Jesus had a different way of seeing. Throughout His ministry, He noticed the people others overlooked: the poor, the outcast, the forgotten, and those pushed to the margins. 1 Samuel 16:7 reminds us that while people look at outward appearances, the Lord looks at the heart. Every person we encounter has a story, struggles we may never see, and a life that is deeply loved by God. Takeaways from this episode: We rarely know the full story behind another person’s life. Jesus consistently saw and valued people others overlooked. God looks beyond outward appearances and sees the heart. Compassion begins when we choose to see people as God sees them. Every person we encounter has inherent value because they are made in the image of God.
