God’s Steady Hand in Changing Seasons

The seasons shift—summer to fall, fall to winter—but through every change, God remains steady. Genesis 8:22 reminds us that as long as the earth endures, the rhythm of seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease. These cycles aren’t random; they answer to His command.

In this evening prayer and devotional, we remember that the same is true of the seasons in our lives. Change often comes suddenly, unsettling us from the comfort of what we know. We may feel overwhelmed, flailing as though the waves are pulling us under. Yet, Isaiah 41:13 assures us that God is holding our hand, whispering, “Do not fear; I will help you.”

Even when transitions feel like they are rushing at us without pause, we can rest in the truth that His grip on us is unshakable. John 10:28 promises that nothing can snatch us out of His hand. When life feels uncertain, cling to His steady presence. Just as He faithfully guides the seasons of the earth, He will faithfully guide the seasons of your life.

Dear Father,
Thank You for being steady and unchanging through the shifting seasons of our lives. Even when change feels overwhelming, I trust that Your hand is holding mine. Help me lean into Your constancy when everything else feels uncertain. Guide me with Your peace, and remind me that no transition can remove me from Your care.
