Talking Politics and Religion Without Hating Each Other
May 15, 2024 - 44 min
We have been told that the two topics we should never discuss are politics and religion. But is that true? Of course not! Despite the fact that the loudest voices in society tell us to keep our thoughts and opinions to ourselves, we need to learn how to have meaningful, important discussions without hating those with whom we disagree. Today and The March or Die Show I have the privilege of interviewing Corey Nathan who is the host of the "Talkin' Politics and Religion" podcast about the best way to have important conversations. This interview was both practical and helpful and one that you can put to use today. Don't be afraid to have the hard conversations-just have them in a way that allows everyone involved to benefit.  To learn more about Corey Nathan find him at https://www.politicsandreligion.us/ or on socials @coreysnathan  Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.
The Disciple Dilemma
May 8, 2024 - 49 min
What does it really mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Those that have been around church for any length of time, have undoubtedly heard the term or even been a part of the process called "discipleship". But what does it really mean to be a disciple and how does that apply to our lives today? My guest on The March or Die Show today is Dennis Allen. Dennis has a diverse background  having served as six-time Chief Executive Officer specializing in “turnarounds” for Wall Street-backed corporations. Dennis works and speaks with businesses, universities, churches, and conferences focusing on leadership and discipleship. Dennis serves today on boards, in business and charity leadership roles. As well as his efforts in churches of all sizes – megas, mids, and startups – as an elder, deacon, and teacher. A combat-rated Air Force F-15 fighter pilot, and an alumnus of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. Throughout his career Dennis has been involved in a number of churches and has noticed a disturbing trend: Many Christians and regular church attendees are either unable or unwilling to share their faith outside of the walls of their church! This has led to an alarming percentage of young people walking away from the faith that was a part of their growing up lives. These observations along with a mountain of research supporting these findings led Dennis to write the book, "The Disciple Dilemma." This is an extremely important conversation for every follower of Christ and for anyone seeking to understand how we can TRULY impact the world around us with the Hope of a relationship with God. Bulletproof First Responder: Mental Health Challenges in the First Responder Community, Causes and Solutions
March 20, 2024 - 84 min
One area that we do not focus on enough is the mental health challenges of those working in the First Responder community. Dealing daily with traumatic and potentially dangerous situations, years of shift work and mandatory overtime all contribute to high levels of anxiety, depression, often suicide among those who keep us safe. Thankfully, these challenges, as well as resources and solutions, are finally being recognized and increasingly prioritized by police and fire departments. I am thankful to be able to have that conversation on todays episode of The March or Die Show with my good friend Danny Coon. Danny is a retired Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy who has turned his focus to the many challenges facing our First Responders. Through his blog, new book, and regular media appearances he is not only raising awareness, but pointing to solutions for those who are struggling. This episode is for anyone who serves their community in uniform and for those of us who want to know how to support them. Guilt, Shame, Freedom, Forgiveness, and Ultra Running with Kyle Kraeft
March 13, 2024 - 43 min
How do we move from a place of Guilt and Shame to a place of Freedom and Redemption? And what does Ultra Running have to do with it? And, more importantly, do I have to be an Ultra Runner to experience Freedom and Redemption? Obviously we do not experience redemption through running, but there are lessons that can be learned about overcoming Guilt and Shame when we commit to doing hard things. Redemption comes through a relationship with Christ, and continuing in that freedom requires a commitment to continual forward movement regardless of the obstacles in front of or the traumas behind us. Such a great conversation with todays guest Kyle Kraeft. Kyle is a top level Ultra Runner with an incredible personal story of struggle and redemption. This episode, and his testimony, will challenge and encourage you while pointing to a hope found in Christ.
